FixedAssetManager

SET UP -  FixedAssetManager Setup Wizard
epcSolutions has designed a Setup Wizard with ease-of-use for the end-users in mind where successive screen guides you through entering all the information you need to configure your entire RFID solution.   The wizard walks you first through the setting up printers, fixed and handheld readers, where you enter IP addresses, reader roles, and antennae settings etc. so the hardware can be provisioned on the network.

RFID readers can be set to different roles depending on the solution’s configuration.

  • CheckInOut – If the reader is used for checking assets in and checking assets out based on the last known state.
  • CheckIn – If the reader is used solely for checking assets in.
  • CheckOut – If the reader is used solely for checking assets out.
  • List Assets- The reader maybe set up to send tag reads to the host where the assets will be checked in and out by the user.
  • Location - If the reader will update the assets last known location (the reader that scanned it), as well as make note of it in the history logs.
  • Inventory – verified tag reads will show up in the Inventory screen.

If a printer was configured with the asset label templates:

You can select a label template from the FixedAssetMananger label library which has RFID and Asset tags for all printers or import custom labels designed by popular label creation software.

FixedAssetManager can encode new RFID assets tags with GS1 backed standardized encoding schemes for asset tracking - (Global Returnable Asset Identifier for reusable package or transport equipment or Global Individual Asset Identifier for individual assets) or custom encoding to insure each asset has a unique ID or FixedAssetManager can use pre-encoded RFID tags.

The Hardware setup is completed now it is time to runtime to enter assets and users in the system.

RUN – Add Assets and Users
Users and assets need to have an asset number RFID (EPC) tag or barcode ID assigned and entered into the system.  FixedAssetManager can print RFID or barcode asset tags or use exiting tags or barcodes

Add Users
FixedAssetManager associates relevant information to the asset such as location, owner, site, model, serial number, manufacturer, purchase value and date, salvage value, and any notes associated with the specific asset.   All data fields can be loaded into the system by imported CSV files or using Mobile FixedAssetManager to read existing barcodes or RFID tags.

Print Asset Tags
If there are not many assets, tags maybe be printed and applied one by one when the assets are entered using the data from the screen

The asset tags for larger quantity of assets can be preprinted and applied to multiple assets and use the handheld to read the barcodes or RFID.

Add Users
FixedAssetManager can read barcode or RFID employee badges.  Assets can be entered manually or save time by importing CSV files or reading existing barcode ID or asset badges and send into FixedAssetManager.

RUN – Check In Check Out Assets

Depending on the reader role and antennae setup assets can be checked in or out automatically so any assets crossing the read zone can be associated with an employee badge.  The system updates the database with the present location and the asset's new status, whicle keeping track of which employee has what items.

Check an Item’s Current Status

RUN - History

Maintains a complete history of an items life cycle

RUN – Search for Assets or Users

Search for any asset or user in the database by any field.

RUN Monitor Readers

FixedAssetManager has a graphic interface that allows you turn on and off all readers, change the reader role, review the readers’ antenna settings.

RUN Mobile FixedAssetManager
Mobile FixedAssetManager may be used to read barcodes and RFID tags to add assets into the system, take inventory on the fly, and check in and check out assets to users, save this information in its database and then update the host’s FixedAssetManager system when it is synchronized.

All Mobile FixedAssetManager actions are saved on the handheld before being transferring to the host by updating or syncing.
