Library Systems Management

RFID tracking systems offer libraries a quick accurate method to securely keep track of books, periodicals, CDs, DVDs, and other media by offering patron self-check out, increased security to augment or replace existing EMS systems, manage circulation and inventory efficiently.

By tagging all resources and placing RFID portals at all exit ways the library can control which items have been checked out with sound alerts triggered by reading unchecked items crossing the portals.  Patrons can check out books at self check-out stations by waving their library card over the read area of the station and then placing their books in the designated book reading zone while confirming the action in a GUI of a computer screen.

RFID tracking systems enable staff to conduct item-level inventory without having to close its doors while employees document everything.  Librarians can conduct inventory quickly by waving a handheld reader around the books and other medium as the walk down the aisles and stacks.   The handheld reader updates the library database with the location of each item.

Lost or mis-shelved items may be found quickly using the handheld reader as a Geiger counter.  Enter the book, CD, or DVD ID(s) and wave the readers through the shelves and wait as the RFID tag broadcast its location increasing in strength the closer the handheld becomes.

A web based applications allows library staff to look up items current status, last known branch, and circulation history.
