In a data center it will encode and read tags for any IT asset including servers, switches, racks and storage devices, tracks IT assets as they are moved in and out of the data center, associates IT assets to their specific rack locations and allows for rapid inventory of IT assets based on location.

FixedAssetManager for IT uses a network of location based RFID fixed readers or mobile RFID handheld readers to track RFID tagged IT assets to eliminate labor intensive manual inventory counts as the network takes inventory on its own. RFID assets tags are automatically read and synchronized with the IT asset database so you can tell which assets are connected to your network and which assets are missing. FixedAssetManager for IT can monitor access to sensitive areas by placing reader and antennae at a room’s exit and entry points to track IT assets in the system through the last known state. To secure IT assets with valuable data stored on them FixedAssetManager for IT can be configured to read RFID ID badges so users can be associated with IT asset transfer and movement. Any assets crossing the read points can be associated with an employee badge in the read zone so the system automatically updates the database with the present location and the new status, while keeping track of what employee has which items. Alerts can be configured so managers can react to exceptions as they happen. FixedAssetManager for IT gives you continual IT asset information that can be acted on in real time.
